
The Community Development Commission supports local economies in Los Angeles County by promoting business growth, encouraging job creation and retention through programs such as, neighborhood revitalization, incubators, redevelopment areas, economic incentives and commercial and industry lending.

It is a privilege for me to lead a Division of professionals dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of County residents. We are ever cognizant that the essence of community development is making our neighborhoods better places to live and work. Therefore, a key activity in the Commission’s comprehensive community development strategy is a proactive government economic development effort that restructures those neighborhoods that are severely distressed; revitalizes those neighborhoods experiencing some decline but that are relatively stable and intact; and reinforces those neighborhoods that are stronger and healthier.
