You will need to complete an application for each of the positions you wish to apply for. Please remember to download and fill out a separate CDC employment application and submit it with any required supplemental questionnaire. It is required that you complete, sign, and mail the application along with any supplemental questionnaire.

The job flyer for the positions listed on the job openings page may be obtained by clicking your mouse on the job title (sometimes two clicks are required).

The job flyer and the required employment application materials may also be obtained from the Receptionist.  To receive the job application and employment flyer by mail, please call (323) 890-7326 and leave your application request. The TDD/TTY number is (323) 890-8583. 

The job flyer and employment application materials will be mailed within three working days. When there is a closing date, all completed applications must be received in the Human Resources Unit by 5:00 pm of the closing date. If this closing date is within five working days of your request, it is best to apply in person, as we cannot guarantee mail delivery of application materials. POSTMARKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Employment Procedures

THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS stated on each job description represents the desired qualifications for the position.  All applicants who meet the desirable qualifications are not guaranteed further participation in the selection process.  Experience, certification, and/or academic degrees are subject to verification by the CDC.

A VALID CALIFORNIA DRIVER'S LICENSE, proof of a clean driving record, and proof of automobile insurance will be necessary for positions which require an employee to drive in the course of CDC business.

A POST-OFFER MEDICAL EXAMINATION, including drug screen, will be conducted following a conditional offer of employment.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY CHILD SUPPORT COMPLIANCE: To provide compliance with court-ordered child, family and spousal obligation, certain employment information (e.g. name, address, Social Security Number and date of hire) is reported to the State Directory of New Hires to assist in locating persons who owe these obligations. Effective January 1, 2000, Family Code section 17512 permits, under certain circumstances, for additional employment and identifying information to be requested. Applicants will not be disqualified from employment based on this information.

A CHECK FOR CRIMINAL HISTORY will be required prior to appointment for any position in which the individual will have direct contact with the tenants of CDC Housing Developments, Section 8 Voucher holders or will have supervisory authority over minors or dependant adults.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION employment is NOT part of the employment system of the County of Los Angeles.  An applicant currently employed by the County of Los Angeles would forfeit County benefits upon resignation of his/her County position and entering the CDC employment.  CDC employees are not represented by an employee organization.
